April Volunteer Day
We are proud to continue our work with HAVEN in 2026, and this time, we’re taking things a step further. After over a year of consistent volunteering—working in their kitchen, garage, and donation room—we saw an opportunity to make a lasting impact. Women In Milford is donating and installing a full wall of metal storage racks with totes to upgrade HAVEN’s donation room, making sorting faster, turnaround more efficient, and the entire process more organized, accessible, and easier on the body for both staff and volunteers.

We’ll be installing the units that day with the help of contractor and builder Michael Kelly, who will be working alongside Women In Milford volunteers to get everything set up and fully operational. This is more than just a volunteer day—it’s a chance to create a long-term solution that will directly improve how HAVEN serves women and families in need. Yesterday’s April Volunteer Day at HAVEN was something really special. After over a year of consistently showing up—working in the kitchen, garage, and donation room—Women In Milford saw an opportunity to make a lasting impact. This time, it wasn’t just about organizing for the day. We installed a full wall of metal storage racks with totes to completely upgrade their donation room, creating a system that makes sorting faster, turnaround more efficient, and the entire process more organized, accessible, and easier on the body for both staff and volunteers.
With the help of contractor and builder Michael Kelly, along with Women In Milford volunteers, the space came together in a way that will support HAVEN long after we left. This project is a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful work isn’t just what you do in the moment—it’s what you build to make things better moving forward. Creating systems like this allows HAVEN to serve women and families in need more efficiently, with dignity and care at the center of it all.
Giving back is at the heart of Women In Milford, and this was a powerful example of what that can look like when we come together with intention.
