February Volunteer Day

RSVP HERE!

We are proud to be volunteering at Haven again in 2026. We’re kicking off the year by coming together for a day of service at Haven of Oakland County, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. This is meaningful, hands-on work that directly supports women and families in our community.

𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲: Friday, February 13, 2026
𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 801 Vanguard Drive, Pontiac, MI 48341

Our focus for this volunteer day is simple and important: showing up and doing whatever work is needed that day to best serve the women at Haven. Whether that means organizing spaces, cleaning, supporting program areas, or tackling behind-the-scenes tasks, every job plays a role in creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. Volunteer work isn’t always glamorous, but it is always impactful - and it’s absolutely work worth doing.

Giving back is central to Women In Milford’s mission. When we serve side by side, we not only support women in need, but we also strengthen our own community through compassion, action, and shared purpose.

Please RSVP soon so we can provide Haven with an accurate headcount. Let’s start this year by giving our time, our energy, and our hearts - because together, women supporting women can make a powerful difference.

We can’t wait to see you there!

Yesterday was our February Volunteer Day at Haven, and this crew has a lot to be proud of. Becca Sand-Schaedig, Paige Bell, Abigail Powers, Gina Salaski, and Marie Kelly rolled up their sleeves and tackled the donation room at Haven in Pontiac, a nonprofit that supports survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. That space is constantly evolving—donations move in and out so quickly it’s nearly impossible to keep up. They were grateful to step in, organize the newest items, and make it easier for women, children, pets, and men to find exactly what they need during an incredibly vulnerable time.

This is the kind of work we love because it’s work worth doing. It’s not glamorous. It’s lifting heavy boxes, sorting through bags, checking items, creating order out of chaos, and handling the behind-the-scenes tasks that keep everything running smoothly. There’s something powerful about quietly showing up and doing the grunt work that most people never see but that truly matters.

A huge thank you to these women for serving so wholeheartedly, and to the entire Haven team—especially Kim, their incredible volunteer coordinator—for trusting us with this space. And we cannot forget Bucket, the sweetest 2-year-old therapy dog in training, who brought the biggest smiles to our faces. Is there anything better than a dog to brighten your day? No. The answer is no, there isn’t. Be sure to check back for details on our next volunteer date, Tuesday, April 14.
