Meet Julia Offner, owner of Red Pine Provisions in Holly and a familiar face at the Milford Farmers Market! Julia launched Red Pine Provisions in February, creating organic spice mixes, trail mixes, soaps, cleaners and more with a focus on products that are good for both people and the planet. The dream, though, started long before February. “I have had the idea to start my own store since I was younger,” Julia shares. After reading a book about a woman who owned an apothecary in a small town, she fell in love with the idea of connecting with the earth while giving back to her community. Years later, after working as a Structural Engineer, that childhood dream evolved into Red Pine Provisions.
Julia carefully chooses high-quality ingredients for everything she makes, but sustainability is just as important as what goes into her products. Customers can bring their own containers to refill or choose Julia’s glass or compostable options, helping reduce single-use plastic with every purchase. “I am passionate about our environment and want to do my part to leave our planet better for next generations,” she says. You can find Red Pine Provisions at pop-up farmers markets in Milford, Holly and Clarkston, along with special events including Diehl’s CiderFest, Holly Witches’ Night and the Holly Dickens Festival. Some cleaning products are also available at 2B Well in Commerce, and Julia offers online ordering and local delivery—her modern-day take on the neighborhood milkman!
And while the products are pretty great, Julia says one of the best parts of owning Red Pine Provisions is getting to know the people who buy them. “I truly love being able to have open and honest conversations with fellow neighbors and in turn being able to offer them products that are a healthier alternative than what is presently offered in commercial stores.” She also genuinely loves making everything—whether that means putting on her lab coat for soap-making day or her apron for a day of mixing spices!
